CA - LA's top designers have the fashion community buzzing
with great anticipation for the debut fashion event, Little
Black Dress. Over 40 designers who call LA their home are
creating their vision of this wardrobe essential to benefit
Sherry Lansing's charity, Stop Cancer. Dresses created by such
notable LA designers as Richard Tyler, Monah Li, Corey Lynn
Calter, Estevan Ramos, Atousa G, Michelle Mason, Natalie
Seaver, and Trina Turk will be sold via silent auction on
Friday, November 8th at Cicada in downtown Los Angeles.
Tickets can be purchased for $30 in advance at
http://www.ticketweb.com or $40 at the door. Doors open at
7:30 pm.
Additional funds will be raised through a raffle featuring
such luxury gift items as: a complete Billabong snowboarding
outfit, gift baskets from Allen Edwards Serenity Spa, Lola
Cosmetics and Hard Candy Cosmetics, dinner for two from
Cicada, a rare copy of Versace's book The Art of Being You
from the Michael Dawson Gallery and much more. VIPs will take
home a fabulous gift bag featuring top notch goodies from:
American Apparel, Primal Elements, Rene Furterer, Hard Candy,
Bluefly.com, Marie Chavez and more.
Stop Cancer's Executive Director David George states, "It's so
great that all of these people have come together to support
Stop Cancer. With Little Black Dress, the entire LA fashion
scene is on board to fight this dreadful disease while also
showing the esprit des corps that LA's burgeoning style
industry is known for."
In addition to the all-star lineup of designers, guests will
be treated to the eclectic sounds of KCRW's Liza Richardson
spinning her distinct, sensual blend of up-tempo, other
worldly dance music mixes. Also manning the decks for the
evening will be Miles Maeda, a legendary Chicago house DJ and
LA's own Roy Ceballos.
Numerous other supporters have contributed with monetary or
in-kind support including Audi of America, Inc., Fred Segal
Beauty, The Switch Fruit Juice, WestPro Graphics, Red Bull and
F.I.D.M. Media partners are Variety, LA Weekly, Los Angeles
Magazine and AdDynamix. KCRW will also be promoting the event
with on-air ticket giveaways.
