Los Angeles, CA - Zion City/Dream Circus Theatre proudly presents, I Am Fantasy, an event that simultaneously combines the best of live theatre, massive art installations, a ballsy DJ line-up and live musical performances. The fantasy-themed event will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2002 from 9:00pm to 4:00am and asks attendees, "What's Your Fantasy?" The fantastical evening is (now) set to take place in Culver City. The creative brains behind I Am Fantasy are Zion City/Dream Circus Theatre's Teo and Mikiko, producing the event as DJ Fud-gee Bear and Electric Grass Hopper. Teo, a musician, and Mikiko, a costume designer, were drawn together during the creative surge of the Moontribe desert party scene in the early to mid 1990s. From there, the two began producing events together, while Teo's musical group, Golden Buddha performed consistently across southern California, and Mikiko launched the Stoner Generation clothing line. Two years ago, the pair began organizing I Am… parties (I Am Vegetable, I Am Metal, I Am Fruit, etc.) described as "performance rave" by the LA Weekly. Teo and Mikiko look back the most fondly on I am Metal, a fierce performance-driven night, late last spring, involving live welding at a cryogenics lab in Southern California with some 400-odd participants. Remaining consistent, I Am Fantasy brings a range of theatrical performances and installation art together for one night.

It is safe to say that the diverse spread of local and international artists and theatrical performers at I Am Fantasy are matched by the talented DJs and live musicians. DJs scheduled to perform throughout the large venue include Grant Plant (Spundae), DJ Brian (Moontribe), Freddy Be (Soul Vibration, Global Grooves) Mark Trance (Deep), Shayne Alemeida (Spundae, Soul Vibration), The Ed (Dream Circus Theatre, Qtopia), Sariah (Serendipitus, Terpsichore), Trichome (ELM, Green Sector), RD (ELM), Johnny (Feel Free), Shawna (Apsara), Tad (Origins Unknown), Jon Mark (Agriglyph Records), Cinnamon Twist (Learning Party - LP), Mighty Eye (LP), and Taffee (LP). Scheduled performances also include live music from Penta (Redtribe), Prophei, Golden Buddha (Dream Circus Theatre), pSyTrIp, Eliza (aka Blue Girl), Michael Zeitgeist and live sitar by Rik Sharaj.

Dream Circus Theatre is proudly co-presenting the themed stages of I Am Fantasy with Feel Free and Canucklehead Adventures and Terpsichore (Co-Creators of Muse). The "Outside Art Exhibit Lounge" is curated by Egg (Stone Soup) and the "Ambient Den" is presented by The Learning Party.

At midnight, the main room will feature a performance called FantaZZZZy, an intricate staged, acrobatic performance produced and performed by the Dream Circus Theatre. The group of elaborately costumed characters, including dragons, centaurs, and an elf from a variety of worlds are dictated by the three parts of the performance: "Air World" (directed by Somovox), "Psychedelic World" (directed by Dream Circus Theatre), and the "Dark Side" (directed by Fabulous Monsters). The room will also host performances throughout the night from Dr. Mega Volt & His Tesla Coil, Green Jell-O Puppet Show (Qtopia), Amphibious Frogitilus (Magic Ballet/Frogman) and Lily Hayden-The Fairy Princess. The night also features local Los Angeles performance artists Solids who are slated to open the evening.
