Los Angeles, CA - UniversalGroove and Rick Rodriguez Productions continue their success as one of the foremost nightclub producer/promoter teams with the premiere of their newest club, Up which opens at the Factory in West Hollywood on Friday, January 17th at 2:30am (Saturday morning).  The new after-hours club will feature the legendary Mike “Hitman” Wilson who is scheduled to fly in each week from Chicago to grace the decks.  Wilson, an important figure in the history of dance music is one of todays most sought after remixers by Dance, Hip-Hop and Pop artists.  The Factory is located at 652 N. Located at the multi-million dollar Factory Nightclub, Up has a capacity of over 1000 people, making it the largest weekly after-hours club on the West Coast.  Music will be provided by 7 DJs in 2 rooms, featuring Chicago’s legendary DJ Mike “Hitman” Wilson, who’s most well-known for his remix work of Inner City’s “Good Life” dating all the way back to the mid-1980’s.  Other featured talent for the event is DJ Sol, resident at club Giant, and DJ Coolwhip, resident at Ritual, Lush, SugarBeats and more.  Rotating resident DJs each week include DJ Bread, Agelus, Kenji, Scissorhand and Michael Carrera.

UniversalGroove has put on events in Los Angeles dating back to 1994 at venues such as Hollywood Athletic Club, Firehouse, Luna Park, Gem, 8531, and many more.  They expanded in 1998 by adding events in Milwaukee, WI, and in 2000 adding San Francisco with events at venues such as Sno Drift, and the Blind Tiger.

Rick Rodriguez Productions began in the early 1990’s under the guidance of Chicago’s legendary house music promoter Tony Bitoy at two of Chicago’s most famous venues, the China Club and the Riviera.  In the mid 1990’s the company expanded and opened two of it’s own venues in the Midwest, in order to bring Chicago house music to areas outside of the metro area.

Mike “Hitman” Wilson is an absolute legend in the DJ community.  He’s been playing and producing records for over twenty years.  When the top acts in dance, hip hop and pop want nothing to get in their way of reaching #1, they call the Hitman.  Mike “Hitman” Wilson has earned the respect of millions as a #1 Billboard-charting producer, engineer, and remixer for artists like Ludacris, Destiny’s Child, Teddy Riley, Mariah Carey, Prince, Michael Jackson, New Order and others.
