THE TALENT:
We're super psyched to bring Pole back to LA (we
did so for the first time
at the El Rey back in '98. Any of you remember?).
He's on tour (from Berlin) throughout the US to
promote his new
album on Mute. I'm still finding out if rapper
Fat John will be accompanying him.
And of equal excitement,
for the first time ever (anywhere) I'm Not A Gun
will perform live (!). INAG is the guitar/drum based
duo John
Tejada and Takeshi
Nishimoto. Their debut album "Everything
At Once" was release by German-based label
City Centre Offices in March 2003 (there's a cool
write up on the Forced Exposure site here.
And rounding out our
stellar talent for the evening is none other than
Phthalocyanine who will assume the roll of opening
DJ (as opposed to his
utterly chaotic yet magical live performances).
THE EVENING:
The Silent Movie Theatre is gorgeous and also a
precious historical landmark. I'm so thrilled to
do the event here but there are lots of issues I
need to share:
- no food or drink is allowed inside
9 - 10: pre-performance hang in the back patio with
(some sort of) open bar
and appz. With the sounds of Phthalocyanine throughout.
10 - 10:30: Live performance in the theatre by I'm
Not A Gun
10:30 - 10:45: Intermission - go back outside and
smoke or whatever
10:45 - 11:30: Live performance by in the theatre
by Pole
12 midnight: you must all be gone
Additionally, the ever
so talented video artist Robert Drummond will provide
the evening's custom visuals (try to see his new
video installation show
that's up right
now in Venice at DCA Fine Art. His "pieces"
are amazing.
And my dear friend
Lesa Carlson, the Neo-Jazz singer and raw foods
chef will help in the kitchen :).
Mark Wald is a highly
creative balloon artist and will design some amazing
installations for the evening. Check out his site
here.
Sound reinforcements

TICKETS:
Advance tickets can be purchased at www.ticketweb.com.
Their service charge is a $1.50 per ticket plus
$1.50 per order. You can buy tickets at the door
*if* it doesn't sell out. The space only seats 210
(250 if we rent more
chairs). We will not be able to let in last minute
attendees if we sell out. The venue is more strict
on this issue than any venue could ever be. Everyone
in the theatre must be seated, no standing in the
aisles is allowed.
10 YEARS:
Over the years we have grown from being just a sole
business proprietor, to
become an events producer/presenter/promotions company,
to an LLC in '97, to opening a Brooklyn office in
2000. At our peek we employed 9 humans and many
other helpful part-timers, interns and professionals.
GG has been fortunate enough to have amazing humans
work here (like Charles Carroll, Roy Ceballos, Peter
Wohelski, Line' Spencer and many others). We've
been blessed to work with the coolest, most deserving
creative clients in LA, nationally and beyond. And
we've been lucky enough to bring many of the world's
greatest electronic music talents to venues around
town such as
Autechre at the Troubadour, the 430 West guys and
Roedelius to Luna Park, Dan Bell, Shake and Claude
Young to Park Plaza, Funkstorung, Phoenecia, Stewart
Walker and Lexaunculpt to the El Rey, Ken Ishii
and Alex Paterson at the Knitting Factory, ... hundreds
of shows.Hope you can join us on Wednesday, September
24, 2003 to celebrate our 10
year milestone.
