Following the success of his recent Kompakt single “Somewhere,” John Tejada returns to his own Palette Recordings imprint with “Anaphora.” After a series of collaborative projects with fellow artists, Tejada distinguishes “Anaphora” as his first solo release on Palette since 2009 and presents a double headliner of his trademark musicality and driving rhythms, delivering a set of two eruptive grooves with a focus that has earned Tejada the respect of both listeners and peers alike. “Anaphora” continues where John’s 2006 smash “The End Of It All” left off, showcasing Tejada’s trademark use of hopeful melodies and emotive sequences. Dance label Halocyan Records will take over Medusa Lounge with relentlessly inventive UK producer Untold, with support by John Tejada (LA), Sumsun (FL), and WMX (LA) on Thursday, November 29, 2012 starting at 9:00pm. The evening’s vibe will span from lush and melodic to dark, dubby and grimy. Solid Gold Dancer will provide the visuals for the evening. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to attend. The renowned Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles (GMCLA) – a leading artistic force, staunch advocate of civil and human rights and first gay men’s choir to perform for a sitting president (Bill Clinton) – presents the world premiere of “The End of It All” by noted electronic artist and DJ John Tejada, on Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Commissioned by GMCLA and written for choir and electronica, it will feature the composer on electronica. Also on the program are a selection of great opera choruses, a range of classic contemporary choral works and the GMCLA’s poignant and critically acclaimed Harvey Milk Schools Project, a mix of music and spoken word spotlighting the life of civil rights icon Harvey Milk to promote equality and acceptance and raise awareness about anti-gay bullying in schools.
