Dark Globe first came to prominence when signed by Leftfield to their own label Hard Hands. A series of groundbreaking singles followed while Dark Globe were courted by, and eventually signed to, A&M Records. However, corporate bullshit (the protracted merger of A&M's group partner, Polygram, and Universal) saw DG's progress stifled before they found their current artistic freedom at the (ahem...) innovative, independent label, Whole Nine Yards.

Their dèbut album, released on W9Y in 1999, 'Tales Of Dirt & Sparks' was received to glowing reviews and almost immediately following, The Globe were commissioned by Donatella Versace to create the music for Versace's show at Milan Fashion Week 2000.  Right after this excursion into the world of glamour, W9Y brought them back to their roots by releasing the dancefloor bomb that was W9Y009 (DG's own remix of 'Ascent' on the a-side, and Terminalhead's remix of 'Arnica' on the flip, garnered praise from all the right quarters ('A killer ass-shaker' - Jockey Slut, 'Essential Gear' - Knowledge) and received DJ support from the likes of Adam Freeland, Way Out West, Orbital, Coldcut, 808 State and The Propellerheads.  And the year only got better with URB profiling the London pair as one of the “Next 100” for 2000, followed by a storming live performance at the Glastonbury Festival.

2001 opened with confirmation that their classic ‘Bug On The Lens’ track would be used in the trailer for the forthcoming blockbuster movie ‘TOMB RAIDER’.  Plus they were commissioned to remix Amanda Ghost for Warner Bros. Dark Globe delivered a storming re-mix of "Idol" which helped the track to scale the Billboard Dance Club Chart this past summer.

The remainder of 2001 has been spent logging time in the studio endeavoring to complete the follow up to “Tales…” (to be released in late 2002) and logging airmiles as the warm-up DJ’s for Boy George.  George, a big fan of Dark Globe since the release of the original mix of “Arnica”, personally sought out DG to set the stage for his DJ sets in North America and the UK.

As a little payback, George lent his vocals to a slice of Prince meets Dark Globe digital tech-funk that became "Auto Erotic", a tantalizing taste of things to come from the second DG album.  This first 12" includes Dark Globe's own mixes, the breaks-driven 'Globo Cop' and bumping, twisted-house 'Rot Kik'.

To follow soon is a second 12”, which features a pair of awesome, driving progressive/tribal remixes from UK prog darlings Cass & Slide and MashUp (aka ex- D.O.P. man Kevin Swain with his partner Dave Snell).
