More than 2,000 cinema professionals vote annually in a format inspired by the Césars (the French “Oscars”) to determine the 25 best French short films of the year, bestowing on them a mark of excellence.
Supported by the French Ministry of Culture, the French National Center of Cinematography (CNC), the Mayor’s Office of Paris, and the French National Theater of Chaillot, the Lutins discover talented young directors, actors and actresses. The Lutins strive to make these young talents known in France and worldwide through a cinematic tour, with screenings and broadcasts around the globe. In the past, the Lutins have honored emerging filmmaker François Ozon, and actors Jérémie Rénier, Ludivine Sagnier, and Sulvie Testud, among others.
