Award-winning pianist and composer Peter Manning Robinson will enthrall audiences with a stunning aural and visual art experience at his The Refractor Piano™ Concert on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Santa Monica’s Bergamot Station. Performing live with his invention, The Refractor Piano™, Robinson is pioneering a new music form: “refracted music.” Without using prerecorded tracks, triggered samples, external sounds, or MIDI instruments, the Emmy and multiple BMI award-winning composer creates a vast spectrum of new sounds with just a refracted, acoustic piano. In a sense, Robinson plays inside the refractions generated by his newly created instrument. His innovative compositions, rooted in classical and jazz traditions combined with improvisation and acoustic refraction, produce a truly original and transcendent live music experience. Idly Bent presents the World Premiere of award winning Director-Playwright Reed Arnold’s new play, All Is Fair (or Oblivion Wrought), at the Dorie Theatre in Hollywood, CA, opening on Friday, April 8th for eleven performances through Sunday, April 24, 2016. This funny and thought-provoking play grapples with the thornier side of the emotions and ethics of love. All is Fair stars Arnold, Sarah Elizabeth Johnston, Michael Minto, and Ross Gallo. Los Angeles-based arts and culture promoter Green Galactic is proud to offer its first-ever class, Marketing, Promotion & PR Basics for Emerging Cultural Creatives, through Trade School LA on Saturday, September 27, 2014, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. Green Galactic instructors, Founder Lynn Tejada and Marketing Consultant Charlene Boehne, will guide participants through an introduction to marketing and promotion, with a particular focus on public relations and online marketing. The inaugural Zeitgeist Media Festival (ZMF), uniting the world through socially conscious art, happens in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at The Music Box in Hollywood… and around the world on the same weekend! The not-for-profit festival features music, visual and interactive art, poetry, comedy, and theatrics including a concert featuring forward-thinking artistic powerhouses such as world musician Natacha Atlas, El Willy & the Wolves with special guest guitar legend Billy Gibbons, violin virtuoso Lili Haydn, Ben Stewart’s Hierosonic, and the social comedy of Rick Overton (MC) and Lee Camp. The Zeitgeist Media Festival runs from 2:00pm to 10:00pm and is an all ages event. In addition to $40.00 per ticket, attendees must also contribute a small canned/sealed food donation to gain entrance. The Music Box is located at 6126 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90028.
