    ARTIST: John Tejada:
Normally associated with his peers in techno from Detroit, Europe and elsewhere, John Tejada has embraced electronic music as a personal frontier, expanding beyond his techno recording artist resume as a producer, remixer, DJ, and label owner. Known for crafting a brand of subtle, musical techno, his recorded output ranges across tempo and genre lines, from chilled out affairs with spacious arrangements to pulsating, densely layered, deeply energetic tracks that work magnificently in the hands of DJs as well as on the home stereo.

In addition to his output on prestigious labels such as Playhouse, Plug Research, deFocus, Moods and Grooves, 7th City, Kompakt, and others, he has also been running his own Palette Recordings label since 1996.

    LABEL: Slices of Life:
Every minute we are listening to music we are sharing a few specific moments of the musician´s life. Our most beloved pieces of music are usually more than just the sum of beats, chords and notes: they also reflect on a period in the life of its producer. In addition to the musical experience each work also contains current life situations, memories and future expectations, some included intentionally, some unconsciously. Somehow it doesn’t seem appropriate to put these Slices Of Life only onto a hard drive amongst hundreds and thousands of imageless files, fearing that the next crash will delete and destroy everything. This is why instead of watching a list of track titles on a screen there are still so many music lovers who prefer to hold the result of all these hours of work and musical commitment in their hands as timeless documents printed onto vinyl. Therefore  Slices Of Life is featuring vinyl as preferred media. For deep, warm sounding, funky and diverse club music.

    LABEL FOUNDER: Barbara Preisinger
    :

Barbara Preisinger first began DJing in 1996 in her hometown of Munich and was soon playing regularly at the green flokati room of the “ultraschall” club. In the summer of 1998 Barbara left Munich for Berlin, where she started working as a freelance press and radio promoter for electronic music. In the years that followed, she represented various labels and acts from the experimental music scene, ranging from straight club sounds to electronic pop and indie-electronia.

1999 saw her co-found the label ~scape, together with Stefan Betke aka Pole, creating an open platform for the productions of Kit Clayton, Jan Jelinek, Deadbeat, Frivolous, and Pole amongst many others. Before long, she was a resident DJ at regular ~scape nights in Berlin and other locations within Europe, Japan and also further afield in North America. Over the years, her musical preferences as DJ have changed and developed continuously to House and Techno. Her passion is to play for the dance floor, mixing kicking house and deep techno – often incorporating the music of friends and related artists such Mike Huckaby, Baaz, The Mole, Daniel Bell, Dimbiman aka DJ Zip and others… All the while remaining open towards interesting and outstanding tunes that make you move. And she has been doing exactly that at many a prestigious location around the globe in recent years, including festivals such as Sonar, Benicassim, DEMF, Club Transmediale Berlin, Mutek, Mutek Chile, SOCO Monteviedeo, Unsound Festival New York and Poland, Todays Art … to mention but a few.

Autumn 2009 Barbara Preisinger launched the 12 inch vinyl label Slices of Life.
