Indie film darling Jillian Leigh’s daring new play, Hooked, will have its World Premiere at this year’s inaugural Los Angeles Theater Festival in Hollywood at The Ruby Theatre, opening on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 for eight performances through Friday, September 25, 2015. Set in a turbulent New York City (1988 & now), against a backdrop of police misconduct and political corruption, the complex play is about the patterns that we cannot break. Devolver Digital Films is proud to announce the digital VOD release of the critically acclaimed comedy-drama, Soft in the Head, directed by Nathan Silver. The feature-length narrative film, set in New York City, follows the blithely unaware Natalia (played by Sheila Etxeberría), a drunken mess who seeks refuge with friends and in a makeshift homeless shelter, after being thrown out of an apartment by her boyfriend. The digital VOD (Video on Demand) release is scheduled for July 29, 2014 through Devolver. Laila Biali, the award-winning Canadian jazz pianist, vocalist and songwriter, will bring her signature genre-bending, crowd-sourced concerts to six major cities in her first headlining U.S. tour in March 2014. Biali is known for taking the best of pop, rock, classical and soul, and informing it with her knowledge of jazz, as she weaves together exquisite musical arrangements. Biali’s tour, supported by The Canada Council for the Arts, will feature Adam Thomas on bass and Fred Kennedy on drums. The trio will be joined by guest artists at each stop.
