The Montalbán is pleased to announce its outdoor 2018 film screening schedule for its preeminent rooftop event space in the heart of Hollywood, The 2018 Montalbán Summer Movie Series. Carrying on the historic venue’s tradition of screening films since 1933, the five month series begins on Thursday, May 31, 2018 and is scheduled to run through Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Foreign films from Spain and Mexico will inaugurate the summer film series – thanks to LA OLA – Independent Films From Spain and Hola Mexico Film Festival – followed by a diverse range of Montalbán-curated films including Black Panther, Grease, Inglorious Bastards, Sunset Blvd., Superbad and many others. Films are scheduled to run five nights per week – every Tuesday through Saturday – with two screening on Friday and Saturday evenings (some exceptions may apply due to private bookings; always check the schedule). Doors open at 6:00pm and films start screening 10 minutes after sunset. Prices are either $10, $15 or $18. The Montalbán is also pleased to announce its new culinary partner Umami Burger. The historic theater is located at 1615 Vine Street, Hollywood, CA 90028.

Indie film darling Jillian Leigh’s daring new play, Hooked, will have its World Premiere at this year’s inaugural Los Angeles Theater Festival in Hollywood at The Ruby Theatre, opening on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 for eight performances through Friday, September 25, 2015. Set in a turbulent New York City (1988 & now), against a backdrop of police misconduct and political corruption, the complex play is about the patterns that we cannot break. On the new album, Kates reunites with award-winning producer Cyrus Melchor, who also produced her first album, The Unexamined Life. The new album, Souled, is an ethereal reflection on life, love, longing, and Los Angeles. Souled’s thoughtful lyrics showcase Kates’ sultry voice and genre-bending arrangements. The album was recorded at Melchor’s Mount Cyanide Studio in Atwater Village as well as engineer Scott Fraser’s studio in Mount Washington, both in Los Angeles. For two days in March, Hollywood will both celebrate the past and embrace the future of indie horror filmmaking at the New Beverly Cinema with Hollywood Horrorfest (HHF). Presented by filmmaker and events organizer Miles Flanagan, the inaugural event will take place at the New Beverly Cinema on Friday, March 28, and Saturday, March 29, 2014 and include competition screenings, panels, raffles, and more. Most of the festival will be free, except for the opening and closing night events, which will include red carpet screenings of The Howling and Return of the Living Dead, respectively.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announces that Wyatt Fenner (The Whale, Misalliance, Next Fall) will take over the lead role of Eli in Slipping starting Sunday, April 21, 2013. Fenner will replace Seth Numrich (Broadway’s War Horse, Golden Boy), who will travel to London to star with Kim Cattrall in the upcoming production of Tennessee Williams’ Sweet Bird of Youth at the Old Vic.
